CGTHD2-S with Multi-Axis Arm

Description: This is our HD2-S with a multi-axis robotic arm. This robot package is complete including the robot, your choice of a controller, battery chargers, and complete assembly and testing. Included:

• The HD2-S with multi-axis arm has all the features of the HD2-S less the roll cage.
• The HD2-S is upfitted with either a 4-axis or 5-axis arm.
• The Direct Drive 4 Axis Arm is a simple arm with no clutches or position feedback. The shoulder rotates 180 degrees with limit switches to stop its travel. The elbow travels about 140 degrees with limit switches to stop the travel. The wrist is continuous rotation. The gripper can open up o 4.75 inches. All the axis have speed control. The camera is mounted to the main chassis and has 360 degree pan, 140 degree tilt, and 27X optical zoom. The arm has an optional IR camera mounted on the forearm to view the gripper. The arm can lift 20+ pounds fully extended.
• The Direct Drive 5-axis arm is the same as the 4 Axis Arm and includes the rotational base. The base rotates 360+ degrees with limits to stop its travel.

• Multiple chargers mounted on one bracket. The chargers are for the 24V motor batteries, 12V video/control battery, and 12V control console battery.
• The chargers are fully automatic and will charge all the batteries simultaneously.
• Chargers are included in a case for easy storage and operation.

• We offer many Remotes.  Depending on budget and how you plan on using the robot you can choose the right remote.
• The Remotes we sell include the video battery for the robot as well as the remote.  We use a 11.1V Lithium Ion 5Ahr battery in the robot for a video run time of up to 8 hours.   All remotes made 2012 and later also include a 11.1V Lithium Ion 5Ahr battery.

  • It has a High Resolution day and night 27X optical zoom camera enclosed in a weather tight housing.
  • The camera pan is more than 360 degrees. The tilt is -45 to +60 degrees up.
  • The pan, tilt, and zoom are controlled with the remotes listed above.
•  IR Camera Mounted on forearm.
  • This optional camera can be selected and mounted on the forearm of the robot for a different perspective of what you are picking up with the manipulator.
  • It has a High Resolution day and night IR camera mounted on a bracket.

• LED lights: This option includes two LED lights mounted on the top of the camera. The lights will follow the camera with the pan and tilt.
• Robot Microphone (for Audio from Robot to Remote). This add-on installs a microphone on the robot. The microphone is a high quality microphone that is meant for listening to large areas. The microphone will be mounted to the robot and the audio will be transmitted back with the video transmitter via the audio channel. The audio will be broadcast real time on the 7” Color LCD. Volume of the audio can be adjusted on the 7” monitor. The gain, etc of the microphone is set up on the microphone on the robot.
• PA System (for Audio from Remote to the Robot). This add-on allows the user to use a hand held radio to broadcast to the robot through a loud speaker PA system. Using this option along with the above microphone allows 2 way communication between the remote users and the robot.
• Additional Customization Options: This robot can be further customized in myriad ways, including alteration of control systems to make the robot capable of more advanced functionality such as position control and inclusion of clutches with position memory (allows the arm to slip if too much force is applied, then return to its prior position as soon as the pressure is released). Description:

This is our ATR kit programmed and fully assembled. The robot is 4WD and is controlled from a PC using a WiFi connection. The robot has an IP camera mounted on a pan and tilt system so you can see where you are going. The pan goes more than 360 degrees and the tilt is -10 to +45 degrees.

The wifi controlled IG32 ATR includes the robot, program, gamepad controller, WiFi Bridge, Ethernet converter, control board, programming, etc. so you can drive the robot using your gamepad controller. The pan and tilt are part of the robot (not part of the camera) so the control of the camera pan and tilt is also performed with the gamepad controller. Of course you can just use your mouse to control the robot too if you don’t want to use the gamepad controls. If you set up your router with port forwarding, you can control and monitor your robot from anywhere that has internet access with your program.  A VB.NET 2010 application is provided.  See the video below for some screen shots.

The robot itself is an extremely rugged well built robot. The wheels are axle mounted and are supported using sealed ball bearings. The motors allow this robot to climb walls. This is a rugged frame made of 1/8″ thick aluminum and includes our IG32P gear motors. The aluminum is all laser cut for an exact fit-up and then hand welded and polished.

The base is 12.25″ wide x 17.25″ long.  Note, these dimensions do not include weld filler, which adds a little to the overall dimensions. As configured it has a ground clearance of about 2 5/16″. The width with the wheels is about 21″ and the length is about 21.5″.

Available Options:

Listed below are standard options, additions, and/or upgrades that are offered with the robot kit. Contact us if you desire further customization. As shown the robot has the optional paint job, LED lights and 2 12V 4500 mAHr NiMH 2×5 Battery Packs.

• Encoder Option: The motors can be upgraded to have encoders. The control board and software will be upgraded to read the encoder data so you can monitor how far the robot has traveled.
• Sandblast and Paint the Robot Chassis: This upgrade will include sandblasting and painting the robot chassis. The chassis is wire brushed aluminum as a standard item, which will not rust. If you select this option we will sandblast the chassis and aluminum parts and paint them. This option will also include a vacuum formed plastic shroud to cover the Wireless Bridge.
• LED lights: This option includes two LED lights mounted on the top of the camera. The lights will follow the camera with the pan and tilt. The lights will be wired to a control relay that is part of the the WiFi Custom Control Interface Package.
• 2-Way Audio:  This option will include a camera upgrade to allow 2-way audio and speakers mounted on the robot.
• Roll Cage: The Roll Cage upgrade will include a roll cage and top cover mounted to the robot. The roll cage will protect the camera in the event of a roll over.

Description:The HD2-S is our standard HD2 Robot set up for Surveillance as a tactical robot. The HD2-S includes the following; robot, battery chargers, complete assembly and testing as a complete package.

• Wheels supported with inner and outer race sealed ball bearings (the wheels are NOT cantilevered or direct driven from the gear motor shaft).
• Wheels are driven with powerful 52mm diameter gear motors with heavy duty #35 chains.
• The treads and four powerful motors allow this robot to ascend/descend stairs and go over most terrain.
• Robot is enclosed and can be sealed making it water tight.
• Chassis is made from aircraft grade aluminum. The design uses all laser cut parts with mortise and tenon design for precise alignment and mating of the parts. The frame is ribbed and gusseted making it very rigid. Welded construction using TIG and MIG for a solid chassis.
• It is about 38 inches long and 20 inches wide by about 9 1/2″ high (tread height). There is a very large center cavity for batteries, electronics, cameras, computers, etc. Wider chassis are also available (~26” wide).
• Custom Treads with aggressive All Terrain pattern. Positive traction. The composite rubber and UHMW wheels with timed teeth that match the cutout pattern on the treads.
• Upgraded LiFePO4 power 25.6V 20Ahrs for the drive. Lithium Ion 11.1V 5Ahrs for the video and control. Provides over 1.5 hours of continuous driving under standard conditions, If driven intermittently the robot’s video and controls will last over 8 hours depending on the remote selected.
• The HD2s are made from aluminum, so they will not rust. The HD2-S comes painted flat black
• This robot is also equipped with a roll cage which includes a heavy duty frame structure bent and welded to protect top mounted camera systems from accidental roll over.  If a nose tilt camera is selected, the roll cage can be omitted to keep it low profile.

This is our new and improved LT2 Tactical Robot.  The  LT robot was upgraded.  The LT2-F was qualified during a series of NIST tests.  This is the same robot, only with out the rear flipper arms.  The robot package includes a complete robot including the, a selection of a custom remote, and selection of a front tilt camera, and battery charging station. The LT2 is capable of climbing household stairs and obstacles. For more aggressive stairs and obstacles, the LT2-F should be considered.
